Sharon Woods Metro Park Off-trail Invasives-n-Trash-n-Trees

Saturday, April 13th, 2019 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm (ET)

About

Dress for an off-trail adventure!! Help us rid our beautiful park of litter and non-native invasive plants that are trying to take over our native wildflower habitat! We will also be planting lots of saplings in open sections of our forest (to replace ash trees killed by the emerald ash borer insect.) The Spring Creek area will be our focus for litter/invasives, including the woods and ravines on either side. Terrain may be rough but there are less-adventurous flatland options. No strollers, please. Dress for the weather - this is rain or shine! Bring garden/work gloves if you have them and wear long pants and old shoes/boots. We will be OFF-TRAIL.

Meeting Location:
Apple Ridge Picnic Shelter. Enter at 6911 Cleveland Avenue, turn right past the bike trail crossing, right at the next parking lot. If parking is full, please DO NOT park along the road or in the grass. There are two other parking lots. Please make sure you arrive with enough time to use the restroom before 2pm. There is a playground nearby if you need to waste some time. We will be in and out of the office on Friday and Saturday a.m. 614-865-4507.
