Nature-Based Solutions Tree Planting at Bridgeway Academy

Bridgeway Academy is a nonprofit education and therapy center that serves pre-K through grade 12 students on the autism spectrum and with other developmental disabilities. Bridgeway acquired the property located at 1350 Alum Creek Drive (formly DeVry and Chamberlain Universities). In April, it's program will be fully operational in this new facility. The campus is large with multiple green spaces. Trees and shrubs will improve the property facing Interstate-70, providing privacy and a sound barrier from the highway, replacing dead ash trees in a 0.5 acre plot, and supplementing their therapy and sensory garden (even with some edibles)! We have ordered about 1,000 seedlings of shrubs and trees species, and we would love your help planting them! 

This event will be open to all with involvement expected from students, family, staff, neighbors, and the Nature-Based Solutions Group and MAD Scientist Associates! Social distancing and masks will be necessary to make this a safe event. We will have hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes available to clean shovels and other tools before and after use. We request that volunteers bring their own gloves as well.
