About

This is the annual Confluence Park Riverbank Clean Up.  Since 2017 we have removed an estimated 13 tons of litter and plastics from the banks of the Scioto and Olentangy Rivers.

This year we will be working our way further upstream and downstream to continue the effort.  We will meet at the north end of the boathouse restaurant parking lot to start the clean up.  All of the supplies for the event will be provided such as litter grabbers, gloves, bags and water.

Volunteers will work in groups traveling up the floodplains of the Olentangy and Scioto rivers to eliminate plastic pollution.

Let’s make this the best year yet!

This event will be sponsored by Green Columbus and Keep Columbus Beautiful.  Partners for this event include FLOW (Friends of the lower Olentangy watershed), MBI (Midwest Biodiversity Institute) and the First Community Church Environmental Justice Team.
