About

Since April 2018, the Friends of the Trail have worked in the SCIOTO RUN NATURE TRAIL, which is an 11.2 acre woodland park in Hilliard, to remove two invasive species: the Honeysuckle Bush and the Garlic Mustard.

1. Please join us to plant 100 NATIVE trees in areas where we cleared the invasives over the last year.  For the first time this year we will install some materials around the saplings to protect them from the deer population of the park.

2. Please also help us with our regular restoration activities which include: Destroying Honeysuckle Bushes
3. Pulling Garlic mustard weeds
4. Spreading mulch created from the honeysuckle debris piles onto the trail
5. Picking up litter, which is concentrated on the westernmost end of the trail near Trueman Blvd.

Meet at Cathy and Dave Levy's home (they also have a Labrador Retriever, Cassie-the-Sweetie), at 3679 Scioto Run Blvd, to gather tools and saplings and divide into subteams.

If you arrive late, call Cathy at 614-506-8139, and she will come off the trail to meet you back at the house, give you tools, and escort you to the worksite.

Wear clothes that are weather appropriate, bring gloves and a water bottle.  We will have extra gloves and bottled water as needed.

Children under 16 must be accompanied by a guardian.

Children under 18 must have two waivers signed by a guardian.

All participants must sign a waiver.

THANK YOU for helping us with this fun and important project!
