Description
Please join Friends of Goodale Park for Earth Day Columbus 2017!

We are proud to be a part of this annual event, and we look forward to making a difference in Goodale Park, Columbus' oldest (and best!) city park.
We're giving the park a makeover with lots of garden bed weeding, mulching, litter pickup, and much more.

No gardening experience is necessary, and the more the merrier (we have over 32 acres of park to tackle!).

We have a small supply of garden gloves, shovels, brooms, hand trowels and wheelbarrows to use, but we always welcome volunteers to bring their own tools to use. Just be sure to mark your own supplies with your contact info (duct tape and sharpies work best!) so that we may return them at the end of the event. Please note that power tools are not permitted.

Please remember to wear weather-appropriate clothing, as we will be working outdoors. We will work in light rain, but never in dangerous weather. Please check the Friends of Goodale Park Facebook page for a weather update at 8am the morning of the event, before heading to the park.

Volunteers must sign in at the Goodale Park Caretaker's Residence upon arrival. Please use the Park Street entrance into the park, and follow the driveway until it dead-ends in front of the residence. There is very limited parking inside the park, so we recommend walking, biking or busing if possible. If driving is a must, there are parking meters along Park St. and Goodale St. Use caution when parking on other neighborhood streets as many are permit-only.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Help tell the world who we are and what we do on Earth Day!
We need photographers and bloggers and social media gurus to document our Earth Day work and let folks know what we're up to. No special skills are needed. However, photographers must provide their own equipment. This is a great volunteer opportunity for anyone wanting to add a little something to their own photography or social media portfolio!
