Indianola Informal K-8 garden needs your help...
"Teaching children about the natural world should be seen as one of the most important events in their lives."
-Thomas Berry, The Dream of the Earth
If you wish to make a difference in the lives of children, please join us for Earth Day in our school garden. Indianola Informal K-8 is a lottery school that pulls its students from many urban areas of Columbus. In our garden, children from Kindergarten through eighth grade have a rare opportunity to observe nature and experience the responsibility of caring for it. This year we are in the process of expanding our school's learning and growing garden and we need your help to make it happen. Please lend your muscles to move soil and mulch and prep raised beds for planting. Help change our landscape by removing sod and planting native perennials that will attract wildlife (weather permitting). If you would like to contribute to a lighter activity; the play space is in need of litter pickup. No matter your ability—please join us in making a difference in the lives of many urban kids of Columbus. The volunteer rewards have been generously provided to us by Chipotle Mexican Grill, Paulie Gee's Short North, Clif Bar, Alchemy Juice Bar + Café, and Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams.
If bringing young children, please monitor them. No dogs, please.
