About

Honeysuckle Removal Project” Gardening for Wildlife” It's been over 20 years since the creek has been cleaned by any federal or state agencies and the woodland has never been restored.  This is a community effort to eliminate invasive honeysuckle and invasive plants in the woodland along the creek.  Once the invasive are removed we will be planting native trees, shrubs and preparing the ground to sow native seeds making this not only an area for wildlife. Our hope is that this can be an educational project for the owners along the creek as well as the Lancaster community schools. The project will be coordinated by Barbara K. Velez Barbosa, Ambassador of National Wildlife Federation.  We have invited the Master Gardeners of Fairfield County, members of Wild Ones Columbus and local residents.  If you are looking to not only restore a part of this community, but educate children and adults please come learn more about what "Gardening for Wildlife” is all about.  Ask a friend to join you for the day!
